Gainesville Georgia is situated North of Atlanta, GA in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. It is also situated on and around Lake Lanier. It was chartered April 21, 1821. The city has received may titles over the years because of it's location and especially it's people.

 

Gainesville has one of the finest hospitals in the Southeast, the North Georgia Medical Center. The hospital has the top rated Cardiac Care Units in Georgia, the Ronnie Green Heart Center. In addition there is the Cancer Center, Hopice, Imaging, Mental Health, Physical Rehabilitation and Women and Children's services.

 

There is much to do and see in and around the area. Lake Lanier has an abundance of water activities such as: boating, wakeboarding, tubing, sailing and fishing just to name a few. In addition only a short drive away are the North Georgia Mountains with many trails, waterfalls, parks, trout streams and magnificant vistas.

 

It's is also very convenient to Metro Atlanta, the nation's largest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International, the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, Hawks, Thrashers and many other sports. There are many colleges and universities such as The University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Brenau University, Georgia State and many others.
